Kybella® Chin Fat Reduction
KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin.”
The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.
Number of Treatments: 1 to 3 (one-month interval)

Kybella Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is Kybella administered?
A: Kybella is given during an in-office visit. The injection process may take 15 to 20 minutes. Dr Nightingale will give you a series of injections into the fat under your chin at each treatment session.
Q: How many Kybella treatment sessions will I need?
A: Dr Nightingale will help you determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Up to 6 treatments may be administered, spaced no less than 1 month apart.
Q: How long will the results last?
A: When injected into the fat under your chin, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After the aesthetic response is achieved, retreatment with KYBELLA® is not expected.
Q: Will I experience any side effects?
A: The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness around the treatment area. KYBELLA® can cause serious side effects, including trouble swallowing and nerve injury in the jaw that can cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness. Syringe Liposculpture for Face, Neck, and Arms
Syringe liposculputure is an office based small volume liposuction procedure. Our focus is to help the patient regain a more youthful body contour of the face and neck, arms and other small areas. To create more skin tightening and reduce burising we will often combine this procedure with laser lipolysis. We can also use the harvested fat to produce both microfat and/or nanofat which can then be used for facial volume restoration and skin rejuvenation. Downtime is usually limited to few days.
